A Note from the Founder

The Arkansas Interscholastic Almanac was created to make the history of Arkansas high school athletics and activities more accessible to people across the state and nation. Across generations, thousands of student-athletes, coaches, educators, schools, and communities have contributed to a history much larger than any single season or championship. Much of that history exists across record books, archives, old newspaper pages, programs, photographs, and memories. The Almanac’s goal is to bring those pieces together.

My mission is to build a resource that not only tells you who won, but also helps you understand the people, schools, accomplishments, and stories that have shaped interscholastic competition in Arkansas.

Historical accuracy is especially important. With that in mind, the Almanac is committed to publishing information that has been researched and verified using credible sources. This is a living archive that will continue to grow as records are researched, athletes are added, histories are documented, and new chapters are written.

History is a source of education, inspiration and entertainment, and I hope the Almanac provides at least one of those to you.
